Your Tasks
- Expand our analytics platform by enhancing the data model and load frameworks to address dynamic business requirements.
- Develop and iterate data models to effectively represent and communicate business needs, ensuring alignment with real-world entities and data relationships.
- Design innovative and future-proof solutions for the data landscape, leveraging Data Warehouse principles, and communicate these effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Build robust data pipelines using Google Cloud Platform tools such as Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Composer, Dataform, and Cloud Run, applying DevOps principles to ensure automation and efficiency.
- Manage and provision cloud infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, optimizing performance and scalability.
- Actively collaborate within the team and guide other product teams on data engineering best practices, including ETL processes and data management strategies.
- Leverage analytics and machine learning techniques to analyze high-volume, high-velocity, and diverse data, creating predictive insights to drive decision-making and deliver business value.
- Identify and validate internal and external datasets for innovative analysis and applications.
- Ensure GDPR-compliant use of data by coordinating with internal Data Privacy teams and adhering to data security, quality, and integrity standards.
- Use IT tools like Jira, Confluence, and Office to support efficient, organized, and collaborative operations.
Your Profile
- A degree in computer science, information systems, or a comparable field.
- Several years of professional experience designing and implementing cloud-based data platforms with a strong understanding of Data Warehouse architecture and concepts.
- Proficient in data engineering with SQL and Python (or optionally Kotlin), with practical experience in Google Cloud Platform and Terraform.
- Skilled in database design, data modeling, and developing complex systems from business needs through refinement, architecture, development, testing, and operations.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and ability to apply lean values, such as transparency, self-organization, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with DevOps practices, including continuous integration, deployment, and automation, to streamline workflows and improve system reliability.
- Familiarity with scripting languages and query tools for data analysis, such as Python, Scala, and SQL, and other technologies like NoSQL databases or graph query languages.
- Strong experience in applying analytics and machine learning techniques to discover patterns, build predictive models, and support decision-making.
- Proactive, growth-oriented mindset with strong critical thinking skills and a solution-driven attitude.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English; proficiency in German is an advantage.
