Searched is a Senior Data Analyst (m/f/d). This role combines end-to-end analytical ownership with a product mindset, driving the delivery from idea to dashboard. Responsibility for translating business questions into clear analytical requirements, shaping KPI definitions together with business stakeholders, and delivering trusted, scalable reporting solutions in close collaboration with data and product teams.

 

  • Product ownership for the analytics domain within Services and Solutions (S&S); ownership of scope; alignment of priorities, backlog, and delivery roadmap for S&S analytics-related tasks and projects
  • Close collaboration with business and tech stakeholders for requirement formulation, clarification of business questions, and alignment on KPI logic and definitions
  • Translation of business needs into clear analytical tasks and user stories for joint implementation with data teams
  • End-to-end accountability for analytical deliveries, from requirement clarification to stakeholder handover
  • Ad-hoc deep-dive analyses for explanation of trends, deviations, and data quality issues
  • Single, correct, and reusable KPI implementation across reports; avoidance of metric fragmentation and one-off logic
  • Close collaboration with Data Engineers on the design and usage of data marts
  • Review, challenge, and co-design of data mart structures with assurance of suitability for real analytical and reporting needs
  • Design and construction of clear, decision-oriented dashboards in Looker
  • Assurance of dashboard intuitiveness, performance, and alignment with agreed KPI definitions
  • Promotion of standardized reporting layers to support the transition from legacy reporting to modern self-service analytics
  • Membership in a cross-functional data community with Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and platform teams; active participation in analytical projects, migrations, and domain initiatives
  • Contribution to documentation, data transparency, and shared analytical standards

Your Profile

Must-have skills

  • Advanced SQL (mandatory): complex joins, CTEs, window functions, performance-aware querying in large datasets
  • Hands-on BigQuery experience in analytical environments
  • Strong understanding of data mart concepts and analytical data structures
  • Advanced knowledge of at least one leading visualization tool: Tableau, Power BI or Looker

Strong plus

  • Experience with LookML (especially in metric modeling and reusable definitions)
  • Hands-on experience with Dataform for analytical transformations
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow or similar)
  • Experience working in cloud-based analytics setups (GCP preferred)

Experience & background

  • Several years of experience as a Senior Data Analyst / BI Analyst with clear end-to-end ownership of analytical topics
  • Proven experience working closely with Data Engineers in one team or project setup
  • Bachelor’s degree in data, economics, IT, mathematics, or a related field
  • Fluency in English, German is a plus
  • Experience leading complex analytical projects is a plus
  • Background in retail and ecommerce is a plus
