Your Tasks

  • Lead and structure a development team of 12 developers and 3 business analysts, implementing clear roles and organized workflows to maximize team efficiency
  • Shield the team from disruptions by handling stakeholder requests, clarifying requirements, and resolving issues independently, when possible, especially during committed sprint work
  • Manage checkout system operations across 1,000+ stores in 10 countries, ensuring reliable functionality while protecting development focus
  • Coordinate strategically with surrounding product teams (webshop checkout, pricing, goods management, couponing) maintaining cooperative relationships while defending team priorities
  • Implement structured project management using waterfall principles internally while interfacing with agile processes across the broader organization
  • Handle stakeholder communication assertively to manage requirements and expectations, negotiate timelines, and manage team resources accordingly
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and establish clear processes to reduce team interruptions and ensure smooth knowledge transfer

Your Profile

  • 4-6 years of experience in retail companies or payment/checkout technology providers with demonstrated understanding of retail operations with demonstrated ability to balance stakeholder demands with team productivity
  • Strong project management skills with experience in both waterfall and agile methodologies, able to adapt approach based on team needs
  • Assertive stakeholder management - comfortable pushing back on unrealistic demands and negotiating effectively to protect team commitments
  • Collaborative team approach - maintains positive relationships with surrounding teams while advocating for your team's interests
  • Hands-on Approach: Self-sufficient problem-solving - willing to research, document, and resolve issues independently rather than immediately escalating to the development team
  • Structural thinking - able to create clear processes, roles, and workflows that bring order to complex environments
  • Excellent English and at least B2 German for effective stakeholder negotiation and team communication
