Your Tasks
- Build the bridge between Products and Platforms. Manage the staffing of our Product and Platform foundation teams to ensure that they have the set up and talent needed to meet high value outcomes. The Corporate Services Platform Team consist of Google Cloud Platform Engineers that are working on several product teams in the area of Condition Management, Data Modelling and Corporate Stock Validation
- Drive engineering excellence. Advise Product and Platform foundation teams on technical solutions and technical backlog prioritisation, bringing your (m/f/d) expertise with regards to Platform standards and engineering best practices
- Develop top talent. Line manage a team of engineers, driving their professional skill development, performance management, and guiding them through their career paths; in addition, play a critical role in identifying and hiring the right talents for your (m/f/d) Platform, including 3rd parties (e.g. external Frontend and Backend Developers)
- Shape the direction of your (m/f/d) Platform. Deliver critical input on the strategic direction of the Platform, including budgeting and planning for talent, to assure the long-term success of the Platform and the Products that depend on it
- Inspire and empower. Serve as a role model, encouraging cross-functional collaboration and fostering technical skill groups in the MMS Tech community
Your Profile
- A degree in IT or business administration, technical field, or equivalent education / experience
- Experience in an engineering/technology role ideally in agile product environments/teams
- Experience with working in agile product teams, DevOps methodologies, and continuous delivery with a focus on optimizing customer value
- Strong technical and interpersonal background / expertise, allowing for effective guidance and mentorship of engineers
- Ability to enhance technical and interpersonal skills/ knowledge of managed engineers
- Proficiency in staffing and recruitment processes, incl. talent identification, interviewing and making informed decisions to build skilled engineering teams
- Skilled in conducting fair and constructive Individual Development Plans (IDP), providing feedback, setting goals, and creating development plans
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to foster strong and trusted relationships with engineers
- In-depth understanding of the product model and its principals, ensuring engineering practises align with product development
- Knowledge about Google Cloud Platform or comparable Cloud Platforms or the strong motivation to gain that knowledge
- Passion for current trends in software design, architecture, and application development
