Lead the charge in digital content and SEO strategy, driving organic growth, team excellence, and performance optimization for a seamless omnichannel experience.

As the  Head of Digital Content & SEO, you will lead the strategic direction and operational execution of MediaMarkt Benelux’s digital content and SEO initiatives. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing our online presence, driving organic traffic, and ensuring exceptional user experiences across all digital touchpoints. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will position MediaMarkt Benelux as the go-to destination for consumer electronics in the region. It's you responsibility to oversee the creation, optimization, and distribution of high-quality, engaging content across all digital platforms (website, App, blog, social media, etc.) and to ensure content aligns with brand guidelines, SEO objectives, and customer needs. Furthermore you ensure proper integration of digital content in the customer’s omnichannel journey and drive localization efforts for the Benelux market, ensuring relevance in Dutch, Belgian, and Luxembourgish markets. This challenging new position will ask a lot of you and our environment is high paced and complex.   • Define and implement a comprehensive digital content and SEO strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Drive organic growth through innovative content marketing initiatives and best-in-class SEO practices.
  • Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor strategies to identify opportunities for differentiation.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of digital content creators, SEO specialists, and external agency partners.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Own technical and on-page SEO strategies, ensuring the website architecture supports organic search performance.
  • Implement and monitor SEO performance metrics, using insights to optimize content and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with central SEO and web development teams to ensure SEO best practices are embedded in website updates and redesigns.
  • Continuously improve user journeys, conversion rates, and engagement through A/B testing and UX enhancements.
  • Work closely with e-commerce, CRM and paid media teams to create an integrated digital marketing approach.
  • Partner with category managers to highlight key offerings through content and SEO strategies.

Who are you?

To be successful in this position, we believe you need the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in digital content management and SEO, preferably in retail or e-commerce.
  • Proven track record of driving organic growth and improving SEO performance.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Quick at seeing connections between topics
  • Strong in embedding structures and enforcing processes 
  • Ability to manage a team of 20 and external agencies
  • Strong at building a network with the most important stakeholders
  • Expertise in SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog) and web analytics platforms (Google Analytics).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English.

For us, a plus will be:

  • Ability to communicate in French.
  • Experience in the consumer electronics industry or a similar fast-paced retail environment.
  • Knowledge of UX principles and A/B testing methodologies.
