Your role and responsibilities
The CRM Direct Marketing & Automation Lead develops, and executes direct marketing strategies to drive short term business objectives (traffic & sales) as well as long term objectives (marketing permissions, customer retention & reactivation, customer experience, customer engagement & loyalty) by targeting the various CRM audiences, and optimizing its performance by continuous analysis.
In order to do so effectively, the lead role manages numerous stakeholders (Campaigning, Category Management, Category Marketing, E-commerce, Pricing, Legal & Compliance, international teams, …), technical tools with its intricate challenges (database systems, email tools, app notifications tool, , and customer data (profiling, data quality, segmentation, …) with knowledge and respect of privacy & GDPR. The role requires a complex and mature profile that handles both the business and tech challenges of the job.
Lastly, this role leads the team of Direct Marketing & Automation Coordinators.
Key Activities
- Direct Marketing Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement Direct Marketing & Automation strategies to achieve business objectives;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define campaign goals, target segments, and messaging;
- Create detailed campaign plans, including timelines, budgets, and resources allocation;
- Data Analysis and Segmentation
- Requesting customer data analyses to identify trends, preferences, and opportunities for personalization;
- Manage the segments to create tailored messaging for different customer groups;
- Continuously monitor and refine segmentation strategies based on performance;
- Campaign, Execution, Reporting, Analysis and Optimization
- Coordinate the execution of direct marketing communications across various channels (email, app push, SMS, social media, etc.);
- A/B test campaign elements to optimize open rates, click-through rates, and conversion;
- Monitor campaign performance and make data-driven adjustments to improve results;
- Provide actionable insights to inform future campaign strategies;
- Lead & support Direct Marketing & Automation Coordinators;
- Tech Stack Management and Utilization
- Navigate the business in tech stack migrations;
- Integrate system with other tools and platform within organization’s tech stack;
- Tailor the local CRM system by defending local objectives to the international roadmap by assessing business requirements, overseeing; configuration changes to align the tech stack with evolving business objectives and processes and building business cases to support them;
- User training & support across the organization, including troubleshooting technical issues, empower users to leverage the full capabilities of tech stack, and foster a culture a continuous learning and improvement.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field;
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in CRM, customer lifecycle management, customer base management;
- CRM industry expert in Direct Marketing field, advocating for best practices within the CRM, and always keep an eye on innovative opportunities;
- Knowledge of customer segmentation techniques plus A/B testing experience;
- Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools;
- Manage global and local stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and end-to-end ownership of your campaigns;
- Results and data driven and able to translate data into insights and actions.
- Team player, able to liaise and collaborate with different departments
- Perfect language skills in Dutch or French, and English
- Experience in retail marketing is a plus.
Skills & capabilties
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills;
- Proficiency in CRM software, email marketing & marketing automation tools. Responsys and Unity knowledge will be preferred;
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into effective CRM strategies;
- Excellent stakeholder management;
- Identify opportunities to improve current processes and increase operational efficiency;
- Adept at working collaboratively in cross-functional teams;
- Desire to work on marketing as well as technical solutions, and experience in how a tech stack can empower CRM;
- Familiarity with retail industry dynamics, customer behavior and lifecycle/customer base marketing.
