Your Tasks

We are searching for a Senior Monitoring specialist to shape the future monitoring landscape and to increase Site-Reliability Engineering maturity within MediaMarkt Saturn.  He/She will be part of our IT Operations Platform team, which has overall responsibility for the monitoring toolset.

Your tasks:

• Act as the overall owner of Monitoring services, ensuring their reliability, availability, and quality.
• Establish and enforce operational processes and procedures for effective use of monitoring tools.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize monitoring requirements, and ensure appropriate actions are taken.
• Design and implementation of Monitoring services for public and private Cloud services
• Influencing the monitoring architecture for the whole organization
• Champions monitoring best-practices and impacts the product backlog
• Improving and automation of routine tasks and monitoring processes
• Detecting, analyzing and fixing systems and service faults and problems
• Active transfer of knowledge in the product teams

Your Profile

Must have:

• Expert in the Cloud and monitoring domain for Infrastructure and application monitoring like Prometheus, Grafana, Kubernetes, Google Cloud
• Strong experience with common DevOps technologies (Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform), GitHub, Opsgenie, etc.)
• Good experienced in scripting languages (Bash, Powershell) and programming languages (e.g. Go, Python)
• Able to debug and optimize code as well as automate routine tasks
• Well knowledgeable about Unix and Windows
• Aware about industry security best practices and follow them
• Keen to work in an agile way and have a basic understanding of SCRUM
• Passionate about new technologies and can think outside the box
• A team player caring about sharing knowledge to improve team skills
• Fluent in English
