The Controlling department consists of 3 teams: Financial Controlling, Commercial Controlling and Sales Controlling.

 

Short introduction to the team:

The Commercial Controlling team provides support to MediaMarkt’s Commercial Departments on how to improve performance in terms of margin, stock and supply chain management. In this context the Commercial Controller acts as a business partner to the Leadership Team providing accurate data on the business performance and advises on performance improvement to excel results and successfully reach the company goals and strategy.

 

As Commercial Controller you will ensure clear insights into the financial performance and MediaMarkt’s position in BeNeLux. You will monitor and analyze short and long term developments regarding the position and objectives of our organization, working closely with the Commercial Controlling Manager and the Commercial Team.

 

Resposibilities:

  • Become a business partner to the Commercial Team;
  • Controlling budget, forecast and investments within your area of focus;
  • Support the right steering of the company’s margin by providing ad-hoc analyses, margin calculations and reports;
  • Support with supplier negotiations;
  • Advise on business cases;
  • Participation in international project (improvement) teams.

 

You

You have a strong personality and you will not avoid to expose your ambition within an high paced, dynamic environment. You instinctively feel comfortable within large models and data sets and are able to find your way around Excel effortlessly. A background in retail, wholesale or logistics would be considered a plus. You have a strong vision of your field, but are open to new ideas and insights and you are an advisory stakeholder manager by nature. In addition you embrace deadlines, you are accurate, entrepreneurial and have an excellent command of English (and possibly French), both verbally and in writing.

 

What you have to offer:

  • Completed Master or Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration;
  • At least 3 years’ of relevant experience;
  • RC, RA, CMA, CIMA, CFA accreditations are welcome but not mandatory;
  • Focus on 'getting things done', self-starter, organizationally strong with great analytical skills.
